About Us.

The London District Chiefs Council is a regional First Nation organization mandated to serve as an Indigenous community builder and political advocate for its First Nations membership. Leaders of the eight southwest Ontario First Nations created the London District Chiefs Council in the late 1970’s as a unified endeavour with a shared mission to advocate, preserve, and enhance the distinct identities, cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing of the diverse First Nations of southwest Ontario.

The London District Chiefs Council has remained a vital organization and works tirelessly to develop and implement social, cultural, and economic revitalization movements in their communities. The London District Chiefs Council member nations span five distinct linguistic cultures, including, Onyota’a:ka, Lenape, and the Anishinaabe linguistic groups – Ojibway, Potawatomi, and Ottawa.
